Juliane Dickel is head of nuclear and energy policy at Friends of the Earth Germany (FoE/ Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland). Coming from Braunschweig (Brunswick), she got early in touch with the nearby nuclear sites Schacht Konrad, Asse 2 and Gorleben and took part inevents with Hibakusha and Liqudators. In Munich, Dickel studied Japanese language and culture, which was erupted by the Fukushima reactor catastrophe. It made her write her master's thesis on the anti-nuclear protests in Japan after March 11, 2011.
In Berlin, she initially worked for the German office of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper and since 2019 for FoE Germany. The environmental organization has been protesting against any use of the high-risk nuclear technology from the beginning in all political and social ways.
